The Top 5 Cosmetic Procedures Consumers Are Considering

It’s always interesting to see which cosmetic procedures pique the masses’ interest most. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) fielded a survey and one of the most interesting questions inquired which procedures consumers are considering getting. We hear a lot about injectables, which did, in fact, top the list, but there were a handful of other procedures that people are considering in droves.

Treatments to tighten skin or smooth wrinkles

In-office treatments to tighten or smooth skin are at the top of many people’s minds, with 49 percent of respondents saying they’re considering making an appointment. Females were more inclined to think about getting one of these treatments, with half of women noting their interest and only 44 percent of men doing the same.

Injectable wrinkle treatments

Injectable wrinkle treatments are a wide umbrella, including neurotoxins like Botox and Daxxify as well as dermal fillers like Sculptra and Restylane. A solid 43 percent of respondents are considering getting some form of an injectable wrinkle treatment. According to ASDS, women are slightly more interested in the treatment than men, with 45 percent of women considering it versus 38 percent of men.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels have come a long way in the past decade, and now people are eager to try the treatment rather than scared of ending up like Samantha from Sex and the City. The survey found that 38 percent of people are considering getting a chemical peel.

Laser hair removal

ASDS found that younger women, ages 25 to 44, are more commonly considering laser hair removal than women over 45. It is also interestingly more appealing to people in the Northeast region. Overall, 38 percent of people are considering the treatment.

Treatments to reduce facial redness

If you have facial redness, you know how hard it can be to get rid of it for good or even just cover it with makeup for a night, so it’s no surprise that 37 percent of people are considering getting a treatment that can help reduce facial redness. Unlike the others, men more commonly consider this treatment, with 43 percent as opposed to 35 percent of women.
