When it comes to transitional beauty, March is all about depth with restraint—and Ali Larter’s red-carpet look for tonight’s Actor Awards delivered exactly that. Anchored by a rich merlot gown and luminous, sculpted skin, the Landman star‘s lip color stole the moment via a sophisticated wine shade.
Created by celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan, the overall look leaned into classic glamour, but the lip kept it fresh. “The rich merlot gown led the story, so we paired it with luminous sculpted skin and a bold wine lip to mirror that depth,” shared Deenihan, who used a full face of Armani Beauty. “Confident, refined and the ultimate glamour.”
For the lips, Deenihan applied Lip Power Lipstick in shade 404 Tempting ($48) to complement the tone of Larter’s dress and tie the entire look together.
“The shade strikes the perfect balance of warmth and softness, enhancing the rosy plum eye without competing with it,” she explains. “It adds polish and structure to the face while still feeling modern and effortless. The long wear formula delivers rich pigment with a comfortable finish that holds beautifully through a full night of press and flash photography.”
To add dimension, Deenihan then tapped Prisma Glass Lip Gloss in shade 06 Amber Shine ($40) onto the center of the lips for subtle light reflection and added fullness. “This lip combination feels cohesive and intentional, with tones that complement the dress and complete the overall look in a refined, red carpet–ready way.”
The lipstick choice complemented the gown without competing—echoing its richness, while enhancing the rosy-plum eye makeup. What made it feel especially current was the undertone: Warm enough to soften the intensity, but deep enough to carry that moody, early-spring energy.
