Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s Oscars Hair: All the Details

When it comes to the red carpet, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is always a vision. This time at the 98th Academy Awards, the vision was classic glamour. The actress paired her Dior gown with long, polished hair styled in loose waves that felt like a modern take on classic Hollywood waves. Think Veronica Lake’s iconic side-swept curls or Rita Hayworth’s glossy red-carpet glamour, updated with a softer, more relaxed finish. Celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager created the look with a focus on sleek shine and soft movement.

“Tonight’s Dior look called for long, glossy waves with a modern twist on Hollywood glamour,” Brager said of the inspiration behind the style. The look balanced structure and softness, with smooth volume through the crown and face-framing pieces that highlighted Chopra’s features.

To achieve the look, Brager first detangled Chopra’s hair with the FHI Heat UNbrush ($18) before creating a sleek blowout using the FHI Heat Innovator Power Pro Speed Dryer ($350), which helped smooth the hair while cutting down drying time. Once the blowout was complete, she used the FHI Heat Platform Bounce Curling Iron 1 1/4-inch ($80) to curl sections beginning at the mid-shaft, rolling the barrel toward the face to create loose, polished waves.

After letting the curls cool to lock in the shape, Brager brushed through the waves again with the UNbrush to soften the finish. “Finally, I released the clipped bang section. I sprayed my UNbrush with hairspray and sculpted the face-framing ‘money piece’ around the eye and cheekbone to create the final shape,” she says. The end result is one of Chopra’s best red-carpet hair moments yet.
