Now, after years of research and formulation, Stewart is taking her skin-care secrets to the mass beauty market with the launch of her debut skin-care line, Elm Biosciences.

Whether she’s giving advice on her favorite in-office facial or dishing the deets on her cosmetic treatment regimen, one thing is certain when it comes to Martha Stewart’s skin-care routine: she prioritizes expert-backed products and treatments that really work. Taking that efficacy-first approach with her into her debut beauty brand endeavor, Stewart tapped board-certified dermatologist, laser surgeon and brand-building aficionado Dhaval Bhanusali, MD as her co-founder for Elm Biosciences: a curated line of skin-care products backed by clinically-proven ingredients and a whopping 350 dermatologist advisors.
Breaking barriers in an industry where new lines and products can be spit out on the daily, Elm Biosciences is five years in the making, and will make its direct-to-consumer debut this September, launching first with the brand’s A3O Elemental Serum, ($135) and Inner Dose The Daily Skin Supplement ($50), which synergistically target the primary causes of aging from the source.
“I’ve tried a lot,” Stewart said in a press release for the line. “[I was] very curious about who’s developing what. What [could] I find that would be the perfect combination of skin care? I wasn’t finding the perfect thing, so when Dr. B and I met and started talking about skin care, I thought, Why not try? This really has really worked.” Emphasizing the science- and results-first approach to skin care, Dr. Bhanusali said in the same press release “I’ve sent her more studies than I can count at this point… [Martha] has access to anything and everything…and the idea is that we want good quality, efficacious products to help us become who we’re supposed to be and live how we want to live.”
