‘Marc Jacobs Nails’ Are the Stripped-Back NYFW Manicure Trend

Nail minimalists and low-maintenance manicure lovers, this one’s for you: Spotted on the Marc Jacobs FW26 runway were completely bare nails. Following the no-makeup makeup trend of scaling back heavier foundation or more ornate eyeshadow looks and instead focusing on skin prep and skin care, simpler nails have taken over the runway at New York Fashion Week this season. We’ve decided to dub them “Marc Jacobs Nails.”

“Marc Jacobs Nails” are the plain, no-polish simple nail trend on the NYFW runway at the Marc Jacobs fall/winter 2026 show. Natural nails, though simplistic, are far from boring. Jinsoon Choi, celebrity manicure artist and founder of Jinsoon, served as the nail lead at the Marc Jacobs show, focusing on models’ hand and cuticle care. Especially in cold, harsh winter weather, spending time to take care of cuticles and the skin on the hands is crucial.

Stripping all the way back to just the essentials, Choi and the rest of her Jinsoon team used no nail polish on the models; rather, hands were groomed to look healthy and naturally beautiful. Backstage, they prepped each models’ hands with the brand’s Primrose + Honeysuckle Healing Cuticle Oil ($35), Camellia Glow Renewing Peeling Balm ($35) and Argan + Rose Moisturizing Hand Cream (45).

So as not to forget about pedicures, the Jinsoon team focused on buffing and shining nails using the Effortless Buffer & Shiner ($8) for a naturally flawless finish. For pedicures, the finishing touch was a buff and shine using the for a flawless, natural finish.

The bare nails matched bare skin on the runway, with many models wearing just a bit of blush and some eye makeup. It seems the designer’s vision was to let fashion take center stage and let the beauty remain understated and clean. It felt intentional, well-maintained and nothing extra.
