JLo Beauty Hydrating Body Cream Review

When we think of the best bodies in Hollywood—or maybe the world—Jennifer Lopez comes to mind. At 56 years young, she is still stunning as ever, showing off her best assets any chance she gets. Born with a naturally beautiful skin tone (I’m pretty sure she came out of the womb glowing), the actress, singer, entrepreneur, mom and more practices what she preaches when it comes to her skin care, and not just on her face. To maintain her glow from the neck down, the A-lister follows a three-step body-care regimen, including her JLo Beauty Smooth + Seduce Hydrating Body Cream ($60), which has become a favorite of mine when my skin starts drying out in the fall/winter. Here’s my honest review.

The Benefits of This Body Cream

Over the past couple decades, “that JLo glow” has become a pop culture phrase we all love to use when the light hits just right, or the makeup looks flawless. Her skin has a gorgeous sheen to it, and yes, some of that is genetics of course, but her body-care routine plays a role, too. In fact, the actress took to Instagram last summer to show us the difference in her skin tone when she has body lotion on, and when she doesn’t, and it’s very noticeable. Even the most beautiful celebs have dry skin, too.

What I love about this formula is not only the whipped texture (it feels so nice; not greasy), but also the thoughtful choice of ingredients. Antioxidant-rich fermented olive oil (the brand’s signature ingredient) provides noteworthy moisturization and hydration, but there’s also hentapeptide-7, caffeine and longan seed extract to help the skin look firmer. There’s a slew of other nourishing, barrier-boosting ingredients in the mix too, including glycerin, squalane, ceramides and more.

JLo uses this body cream alone, mixed with her Complexion Booster (one of her favorite tips), or layered on top of her Body Serum. I also love her tip of mixing it with bronzer if my legs are going to be exposed (especially in the summer or on vacation), and you can use any glow drops or liquid bronzer you already have.

In an eight-week clinical study (I love that the brand does clinicals), 100 percent of participants agreed their skin felt firmer; 77 percent agreed their skin dimpling was visibly reduced; and 97 percent saw an improvement in skin texture. This formula is great pick for anyone with aging skin or crepey areas that need a little extra TLC than what a standard body lotion can provide.
