Top Trends Making Waves This Fall

When it comes to beauty, Afterpay’s Holiday 2025 Trend report is packed with up-and-coming trends as well as returning seasonal favorites. With the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platform experiencing more than 30 percent growth in 2025, particularly among Gen Z and millennial users, we have clearer insight into what’s actually resonating with beauty buyers.

The answer? Jewel tones, luxurious textures and hydrating finishes.

Hydrated, Bejeweled and Bold Beauty

The rise in bold beauty face gems (+78 percent) and blue eyeshadow (+60 percent) coincides with a surge of +150 percent in deep berry lipstick shades, revealing a jewel-toned beauty trend that goes from shade inspiration to literally bejeweled looks. And after seasons of cream blush dominance, velvet blush has emerged as the latest blush trend to take over, spotlighting a rich, blendable texture that rides the line between cream and powder formulations.

In the world of skin care, dewy face mists saw a +138 percent rise over the summer, and botanical face oils became a breakout star with +325 percent growth.
