Hailey Bieber’s Fish Manicure Is Her Most Playful Yet

Hailey Bieber is in her playful nail era. The Rhode founder just swapped her signature glazed donut-inspired manicure for one featuring tiny fish, lemon slices and hibiscus flowers—and it’s an unexpected yet welcome twist that surprised and delighted social media, not to mention the NewBeauty team in spades.

The look, created by her longtime nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, feels fresh and artful. No two nails are alike—at least based on the photo of one hand shared on Instagram. There are soft pink stripes, a lemon slice accented with a silver chrome French tip, a bright yellow pinky with a red hibiscus flower and two hand-painted fish: a pink prawn framed by a blue mosaic design and an orange koi set against a creamy base. Bieber’s influence on nail trends runs deep, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see “fish manicures” have a moment, randomness aside. Her glazed donut nails easily became one of the most copied looks of the decade, inspiring a full-blown obsession with luminous, high-shine finishes that channel that “your nails but better” vibe.

A similar frenzy followed her “farmer’s market nails” in May 2024. The manicure—also created by Ganzorigt—featured tiny, hand-painted fruits and vegetables, including cherries, corn, blueberries and carrots. After she posted the produce-filled design, fans flocked online to search for it, many likely bringing screenshots to their next salon visit. According to a Fresha study, searches for “Hailey Bieber nails” spiked 350 percent in just one week after she shared the look on Instagram. (See: slide two below.)
