Set on the classically luxurious Lake Como, Italy for more than 150 years, Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni blends unpretentious hospitality, five-star amenities and newly updated spa and wellness moments.

With the unveiling of Luce del Lago this past spring, the villa proudly became the largest wellness center on the shores of Lake Como. The impressive complex features signature spa treatments, three heated pools, an expansive hammam and thoughtful touches aimed to enhance mood and well-being.

Despite being a major makeover for the long-standing property, the spa and pool updates, designed by renowned Italian architect Silvia Giannini, respect the surrounding natural beauty of the lake and the landmark’s storied past. The interiors draw inspiration from the beige sandy beaches, pink sunsets and calm, deep-blue waters.
Built in 1854 as a private residence for the noble Frizzoni family from Bergamo, Italy, Villa Serbelloni was converted into a lakeside hotel in 1873. It has been run by four generations of the Bucher family ever since.

Considered the pioneer of Italian molecular gastronomy, the hotel’s executive chef Ettore Bocchia is known for introducing a scientific approach to cooking that uses chemistry and physics to create innovative textures, flavors and presentations in dishes.

A quintessential example of 19th-century Italian elegance, each space within the hotel is a treasure trove. While the opulent details are stunning, it never feels over the top—only comfortable.

Between comfortable beds and a lakeside breeze, the staff is particularly proud of the fact that guests will get a good night’s sleep here. All the villa’s duvets are crafted from pure Lake Como silk and hand-stitched by the in-house seamstress based on an 1800’s design.
