It’s a good morning when I open my Instagram feed to see Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham holding a cup of coffee, telling us about her makeup routine. Graham is the most recent celebrity to share their love of MERIT and their personal five-minute morning routine. “I’ve had just enough coffee to think filming myself doing my makeup is a good idea,” says Graham before diving into the details.
“I tend to go a little red as many Irish people do, so I like maybe just a little extra coverage,” Graham says as she applies the brand’s most recent launch, The Uniform ($38), a tinted mineral sunscreen. She notes that The Minimalist ($38), a complexion stick, is good to have in your bag in case you need to zhush yourself up on the go.
Graham shares that she was a tomboy growing up, so she mostly learned about glam “from working with incredible makeup artists,” some of whom introduced her to Flush Balm ($30). She notes that she likes to start her blush a little higher so it looks like “oh I’m not wearing makeup, I just have a natural healthy glow.” To top it off, she layers on some shimmery Day Glow ($32) highlight balm.
“I personally feel mascara is part of the five-minute routine, not everybody agrees,” says Graham while curling her lashes and applying Clean Lash Mascara ($26). “My eyebrows are still kind of okay thickness-wise, so I just like to even them out just a little bit,” she says while doing so with Brow 1980 ($24). “I look back at early TV shows I’m on [and] I’m in such a dark lip with so much definition, which I guess you can pull off in your 30s,” says Graham. Now, she prefers a hint of color and gloss, which she likes using Shade Slick ($24) tinted lip oil in Twin Set for.
